FAMILY TEAMS at Diefenbaker School

This school year was very exciting in terms of implementing our Kindness Umbrella initiatives as we were finally able to practice and learn about kindness in person with each other.

We were able to gather as a whole school on Pink Shirt Day for a Kindness assembly.

We were also able to meet in multi-age family teams to practice kindness and come up with meaningful kindness pledges.

Grade 6 and 7 students met first to discuss why kindness is important for everyone at our school.  They practiced kindness activities and planned on how to include students in their family teams.

Students then got to know each other better in their teams and worked on their kindness pledges.  Pledges were illustrated on pink shirts that were then posted on all classroom doors, forming a circle of kindness that keeps going and spreading.
