September 29th Bulldog Bulletin

Dear Bulldog families,

Thank you to many of you who attended last night’s Welcoming PAC meeting.  It was wonderful to meet you all and to begin working with you on so many amazing events this school year.  We invite you to contribute to the PAC events in any way you can this year.

We are also glad for many of you who attended this morning’s Orange Shirt Day assembly.  It was a special commemoration of the terrible things that happened in Canada’s residential schools as well as a call to action on a new path of Reconciliation for each one of us and our country.  Thank you to Divisions 6, 7, 8, and 9 for the powerful presentation of the 300 Sleeps poem, to Division 8 for the Indigenous Acknowledgement and to Mr. Seebach for teaching us the many Cree words from the story Stolen Words. Please, note that Monday, October 2nd is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation the school is closed.

Please, see the attached Bulldog Bulletin, October calendar and  Cross-Country Fun Run at Garry Point permission form.

To report your child’s absence, please remember to call our Early Warning Line at 604 718 4094.  Include your child’s name, division number and reason for absence. Thank you.

Thank you if you already retuned your student information package to your child’s classroom teacher and if you paid your school fees on SchoolCashOnline.com. Please, do so as soon as possible if you have not done so yet.

If your child is ill, please keep them at home for at least 24 hours or until they are completely symptom free.  Thank you for keeping our school community safe and healthy.

This year’s District Cross Country Fun Run is on Tuesday, October 17th at 3:30 pm at Garry Point Park for Grade 1 to 7 students.  If your child is interested in attending, please fill out and sign the attached form. Printed forms are available for you to pick up at the main office.  The form will need to be returned to the main office. Thank you. Please, note that if your child is in the Grade 4 to 7 Cross Country Running Club, they already handed in their form to the office.

We wish you a restful and thoughtful long weekend,

Regina Vosahlo and Kevin Vines
