May 31st Bulldog Bulletin

Dear Bulldog families,

Please, see the attached Bulldog Bulletin, Fun Day plan, June calendar and Diversity, Multifaith June calendar.

This is a friendly reminder that our PAC AGM meeting is taking place tonight at 6:30 pm in the library.  We welcome all of you to join!

It is hard to believe it’s June and we are nearing the end of the school year.  Our student leadership group has planned for Diefenbaker School Spirit week during the first week of June with a variety of themes for each day next week such as: matching, rainbow, hat and beach day themes, culminating with Fun day on Friday.

Great news from our Grad organizing committee. The ever popular Friday Freezie loonies sales will continue on Friday afternoons in June.

Staffing update

Tomorrow will be last day for Ms. Wong, our resource teacher.  Ms. Wong is leaving on her maternity leave and will be back with us next June. Congratulations!  We are happy to welcome back Ms. Lucovic who will be teaching resource classes for Ms. Wong in the month of June.

Fun Day 2024

Our staff and Grade 7 students have been hard at work planning for this year’s Fun Day, on Friday, June 7th.  The theme for this year’s Fun Day is TROPICAL PARADISE.

Please, note that students will be dismissed at 1:45 pm on this day.

In case of rain, we would postpone Fun Day to Monday, June 10th.  Please, check the school website on Friday morning at 7 am for weather update. Parents will also be emailed and messaged on School Messenger.

We will begin the Fun Day with the Bike parade.  The parade this year will be on the paved path on the field for primary Kindergarten to Grade 3 students.  Please, have your child park their bike in the morning on the basketball court.  They must wear a helmet if biking.  We will store the bikes in the gym after the parade. No e-scooters nor electric bikes will be allowed.

We thank the PAC for generously providing us with frozen yogurt snacks during the Fun Day recess break.

Please note, that parents are welcome to join their children at lunch but will be asked to eat with their children outside, not in the classrooms. Only students will eat their lunch in the classroom as usual.

We will wrap up Fun day with tug-of-war for students only.

We wish you wonderful rest of the week,

Regina Vosahlo and Kevin Vines
